Something popular in most musical styles is deep bass. Bass lines and kick drums deliver some punch to the mix, however very few deliver a rumble that will shake the walls when played through a subwoofer. Most producers of musical styles such as Hip Hop music, R & B music, even Rock & Roll, incorporate some sort of bass drops in their music. There are several ways to achieve a sub bass sound. There are stock sounds to choose from, or you can design your own.
All you will need is a good subwoofer attached to your speaker setup, or headphones with a full dynamic range. Then of course you need a keyboard workstation or digital audio workstation.
To create a valid bass drop you need to set the pitch for your sound, pick the right original sound to begin with, and use filtering when necessary. One thing to be cautious of when adding bass drops is to be aware of the volume so the rest of your mix doesn’t quiet down when you drop the bass. Hopefully this article will set you in the right direction.

Step 1

Select a source. There are many ways to get a sub bass sound. You can start with a bass drum, single note from a bass sound, or even a string sound played very low. There are preset bass drop sounds that come stock with many workstations and sample sets. However, getting the correct sound and tone to fit your production is critical.

Step 2

Select a pitch. Most bass drops are tuned to approximately 40 – 50hz. A simple way to isolate the bass tone is to use an EQ. Just cutoff all of the frequencies above 60hz for example, then normalize that new sound. You should have a nice rumbling bass sound now. It is a good idea to tune the bass drop to a key that your track already uses. To tune the bass drop all you need to do is adjust the pitch setting until you hear the right tone.

Step 3

Apply filtering. If you started with a bass drum and all you hear now is a deep thud, to extend the sound add some decay to it. If you hear a click sound at the very beginning of the drop that you want to get rid of, just apply some attack to the sound. This will quiet the very beginning of the sound. Another way to make the bass rumble is to tweak the cutoff and resonance settings. If you can do this in real time it is better since you can stop at the exact point you get the most bass. You can also automate the filtering to create a sub bass tone that drops in frequency over time, like those popular in Miami bass music.

Step 4

Fit your new sound into the mix. One of the most critical parts of placing bass drops in your mix is the volume of the drop. If the volume is too loud all of the other instruments in your mix will quiet way down when the bass drop occurs. To correct this make sure your bass drop is at a low volume level. The only real way you should be able to audibly hear the bass drop is if you are using professional headphones, professional studio monitors, or a subwoofer.

When you produce a beat for a major label Hip Hop album you may be required to mix the track a little differently than if you were going to sell it to someone at a smaller label. If the final track is going to be mastered you will probably be required to track out the beat, or, create a separate wav file for each track in your mix. There may also be restrictions on how you can process the music and at what volume you are required to submit it in. Additionally some projects require the hard drive or memory card from the computer or workstation the music was created from, so that the label has official control of the master. This article will hopefully give you some insight on how you should mix your track before you get it mastered.

Things You’ll Need:

A passion for Hip Hop music

Step 1

The first thing to do always is make sure your mix is clean to begin with. There is a saying in the industry, garbage in garbage out. Noise and hiss can be considered an aesthetic that some Hip Hop music producers prefer, however, if it is not your intention to have noise or hiss in the track then get rid of it. To do this you can use some expensive professional hardware processors, or if you are rockin the laptop you can get some free WAVES type of effects also.
Step 2

Stay away from over filtering. Over filtered music can sound muddy. If you are the type that has your routine effects you have to add to every track, next time switch it up and just add effects that would compliment the mix and what you are trying to hear. This might make your mix a little more crystal clear. Mastering engineers agonize when they listen to over processed & over compressed tracks. There are some things even they can’t fix.
Step 3

Most mixing engineers would suggest that you mix your tracks to a-3db output if they are going to be professionally mastered. This allows headroom and preserves the dynamic range of your music. Without a dynamic range the final track will sound thin and weak. The trick is to make the track as loud as possible without over compressing so the mastering engineer can run the track through their expert compressors and vintage gear.
Step 4

Backup your masters. Labels and artists sometimes require master copies of the original track. Sometimes they request this even when you still hold rights to the recording as well. So, a common practice would be to make a back up copy of the hard drive or memory card you made the music on before you submit it. Especially regarding the beats. If you have custom sounds on there the record company may own the sequence but usually the individual sounds are still yours. Such as synthesized sounds that you design from scratch.

Tips & Warnings

Only deal with serious individuals. With so much bootlegging and beat jacking going on probably the most important thing is to pay attention to the vibes you get from others. If they take advantage of others, they may take advantage of you. It would be wise to deal with like-minded individuals from the very beginning, those that are as passionate about Hip Hop music as you.

Just today Rolling Stone Magazine released a list of the ‘Best Songs of the Decade’ on their website. It’s not my list but I definitely do not agree with it.

Rihanna makes it on here with ‘Umbrella‘; I thought every song Keri Hilson ever made was better than ‘Umbrella.’ I would have expected to see Chris Brown and Jordan Spark’s ‘No Air‘, there also isn’t a single song from Ne-Yo on here.

According to the list you would think Beyonce was the only R&B singer of the decade, aside from Amy Winehouse making it on here twice! What other song did she have besides ‘Rehab’?

I must agree with the nods to Outkast, Lady Gaga, Aaliyah and Snoop Dogg, however ‘Get the Party Started‘ was not Pink’s best song.. Where are The Black Eyed Peas? Jazmine Sullivan?

Was ‘A Mili’ really Lil Wayne’s best song of the decade, and do you really think Jay-Z had more hits than Lil Wayne? And what’s up with these Madonna songs I’ve never heard of? Can’t speak on the rock stuff.. But see for yourself.

You can find yourself following into an emotionally depressed state, and you may find yourself wondering what to do. You may immediately feel like calling your ex and begging him or her to come back to you. But is this really going to make things better? Rather than make things better, what it is probably going to do is make your situation much worse, chasing your ex away even further.

What you should actually do at this point is the opposite of what you are feeling. Do you feel like calling your ex? Don’t! Do you feel like staying inside and crying all day long? Don’t! Step 1 – How to get back with my ex: Accept the Break Up!

First and foremost, you need to accept that the break up is happening. Tell your ex that you are okay with it, and allow the “moving on” process to begin/. When you do this, it will eliminate a large amount of the tension and stress that is being experienced by all. Your ex will need time to think about the relationship, and this will give you time as well to consider your options. If your ex realizes that he or she still loves you, they will find a way to get back with you.

Step 2 – How to get back with my ex: Do not contact your ex!

Do not make an effort to contact your ex anymore right now. You should cut communication off with him or her so that there can be some “thinking time”. This may seem counterintuitive, but by cutting communication off you are signaling that you have already moved on and that you are doing just fine.

This will allow him or her to think about the relationship and how they feel about its value. It will also allow them to have some time to miss you again. When you can separate yourself from your ex and can calm your nerves, that may be the best time to let them realize how important you were to them.

Step 3 – How to get back with my ex: Plan Ahead for the Get Together

Once you have completed the two steps mentioned just above, you can start working on planning on when you should meet, where you should meet, and also what should be said when you do meet up again. This will allow you to get a better idea of whether or not your ex still loves you, and also if there is any chance that you and your ex will be able to get back together.

“How to get back with my ex?” Can be a little more complicated than the three steps above. But they are a good start and will improve your chances of winning your ex back.

Women say “I want a man who listens to me.” They choose the man who dominates the conversation. Women say, “I want a guy with a good sense of humor.” They date the guy who has money.

Why do women say they want one thing but actually go out with a guy who is just the opposite? The answer to that question lies in the subconscious motivators for getting together. And, therein lies my relationship advice for men.

The historical, biological reason for men and women to get together is to propagate the species. In other words, just because getting pregnant may be the last thing on her conscious mind, when she evaluates a man at the subconscious level, she’s still looking for a good papa for her children.

Is the good dad someone who listens to her? No, it is someone who will provide for her children. And, the person who can provide for her children is someone who has the confidence to bring home the bacon.

Women need men who can be good providers. While a man can produce thousands of sperm on repeated occasions throughout their adult lives, even into their 90’s, women have about 400 chances of producing a baby. As a result, they are looking for a man who can provide longevity and stability for their babies.

A man who tells a women he is a lawyer and not a paralegal will have a better chance of landing her. That is because she perceives that a lawyer is a better provider for her future children.

But having a good income is not enough. A woman needs to perceive that a man is generous with his resources and will provide for her children. That is why women place such a high value on gifts such as jewelry.

It may also be why the engagement ring must be such a large purchase. When you ask a woman to marry you, you give her a ring, not just because it is traditional and romantic, but because it is a tangible display that you can provide for her and her children.

Further, even though modern humans make money more from their brains than their brawn, women are still programmed to think of strength equaling the ability to provide. That’s why, even when there is evidence to the contrary in the form of a tax return, the woman is hardwired to choose the lineman over the computer geek.

Synth lines are heavily used in West Coast & Dirty South Hip Hop music productions. This article hopefully helps you gain an understanding of where they should fit in the mix. Things to watch out for when mixing synthesizer tracks into your beat are volume, dynamic range, and how the tone of your sounds fit into the mix. Techniques you may want to use to sound unique are automation, filters, and arpeggiators.

Things You’ll Need:

A passion for Hip Hop music.

Step 1

Watch the volume levels. The overall mix of a Hip Hop music production can be destroyed by synth tracks that take up too much space in the frequency spectrum. For this reason, synth tracks usually go straight to the back of a mix. Techniques that mainstream producers use to get this effect are panning, EQ, and limiting. When you limit the sound, pan it slightly left or right, then EQ frequencies out of the sound that conflict with other frequencies, you get that laid back effect on your synth. If you are looking for something upfront use a saw wave, then drop out some of the bass.
Step 2

Create your ambience. You can get these by using synth pads, or you can create your own ambience. Some Hip Hop music producers will double a synth track several times, turn the volume on the tracks lower than the rest of the instruments, and then shift the notes on a duplicate track slightly left or slightly right. Then they pan them to different sides. This can create a fat sounding synth track, or can create the ambience you are looking for in your mix.
Step 3

Automate your filters. If you use a keyboard workstation or a professional MIDI controller then this step is very simple for you. All you do is record the track, then twist the knobs real-time over the track to get the type of effects you want. If you are using a mouse, you may have your work cut out for you. Automation and filtering can be very simple with proper equipment, or can become an almost impossible task that many Hip Hop music producers away from.
Step 4

Add in arpeggiation. An arpeggiator gives you the stutter sound that is popular in Hip Hop music. An arpeggiator basically is like programming a key to play a sequence of notes or a riff by just pressing that one key. You can use it to make drum rolls, Pop sound effects, or anything in between. You can use this feature to create complex multi tracks that fit into one sequencer track. This is something you want to be cautious of since it is easy to over do the sounds.

A rebound relationship is one where she is dating someone else to get over you. Rebound relationships keep people from having to deal with the emotions of breaking up. They’re used to help people move on from a real love.

And that’s the key to getting your ex back. She’s in a rebound relationship to deal with losing you.

It does not matter why she lost you. It doesn’t matter if it is your fault or hers. It doesn’t even matter who actually called the relationship off. What matters is that you have a real love.

Because virtually all relationships founded on real love can be saved.

If she’s in a rebound relationship, she will be focusing on what is wrong with your relationship. If you were a “good guy” she’ll probably be hanging out with a “bad boy.” If you were into philosophy, he’ll be watching Monday Night Football. Or, vice versa.

The fact that she is actually focusing on the differences in your styles is actually good for you for two reasons. Her attention is still focused on you even when she’s with the new guy. And, it gives you a chance to see what she’s looking for.

Here are some specific steps to take when your ex is in a rebound relationship:

· Don’t try to convince her that you are the love of her life. Let her discover this on her own.

· Don’t apologize profusely. If you did something wrong, you can say you’re sorry. Once. But move on. She knows the real reason she loves you.

· Don’t make promises to change. You are who you are and that’s who she fell in love with.

· Don’t try to make her see that it wasn’t your fault. She will come to appreciate that over time – but only if you haven’t made her invest energy in defending her position that it was your fault.

· Never, ever beg her to take you back.

When you ex starts going out with someone just after you break up, she’s in a rebound relationship. You can make up with her and get back together. Don’t despair.
